Taiwan people often eat Tangyuan on Winter Solstice,but sometimes like to eat it as a snack.In Taiwan there are many practices of Tangyuan, a filling, no stuffing, sweet, salty, and can be in accordance with the taste of your favorite cooking or purchase.
Sweet Tangyuan:there are added to the red beans, sesame or peanut filling, or not filling just cook the small Tangyuan with sweet soup directly.
Salty Tangyuan:there are added to the meat filling, or not filling just cook the small Tangyuan with meat and vegetables soup directly.
甜湯圓:有加入紅豆、芝麻或花生等餡料的,或沒有餡料直接用甜湯煮的小湯圓。
鹹湯圓:有加入肉類餡料的,或沒有餡料而直接跟肉類和蔬菜湯一起煮的小湯圓。
